ITANAGAR: Arunachal Pradesh Governor Brig (Retd) Dr BD Mishra on Sunday extended his wishes to the people of the State, particularly the Adi community, on the occasion of Unying Aran.

He expressed his hope that the festival will promote an ideal balance between traditions and environmental necessities.

In his message, the Governor said that Unying Aran is one of the most popular festivals of the Adi community. It is celebrated with the arrival of the spring season. It showcases the sublime and treasured cultural assets of the tribe.

"Its most important adjunct is its intended extension to the younger generation for creating awareness and empathy amongst them for the endowed universal human bonding. Equally importantly, this festival propagates the benevolent relationship between man and nature," he said.

"I am sanguine that our Adi elders will continue to urge the younger generations to emulate the excellent social traditions of yore and environmental preservation prevalent in their community," he said.

On the auspicious occasion, Mishra offered his prayers to 'Kine Nane', the Goddess of crops and prosperity, 'Dadi Bote', the God of Animal kingdom, 'Doying-Bote', the God of Wisdom and all other benevolent deities to shower their blessings on the entire mankind and herald perpetual peace, progress and prosperity for one and all.
